I graduated from the rigorous and incomparable College of Staten Island High School for International Studies in 2013. I am currently a senior in the Teacher Education Honors Academy at the College of Staten Island. This May, I will be graduating with my Bachelors in mathematics. It has always been my dream to become a mathematics teacher. I aspire to be an effective and engaging high school math teacher. I greatly admire working with children; I have been involved with United Activities Unlimited summer camps and after school programs, tutoring, dancing schools, and elementary, intermediate, and high schools for many years. I want to be the teacher that students look up to, the one that inspires students, and the one who sparks their curiosity. I want my future students to not only understand the importance of mathematics, but to be able to enjoy mathematics as much as I do, as well. After I graduate CSI, I plan on attending the graduate school at CSI for my Masters in education. I am more than honored to be a Harcourt Scholarship recipient. Being recognized for all of my hard work, dedication, and passion is such an amazing feeling. Thank you for all of your support, and for encouraging me to be the best that I can be. I will always be grateful.
