Kaylla St. Luce
I was born in Saint Lucia but currently reside in Brooklyn, New York. I am a junior at Baruch College majoring in Corporate Communications and double minoring in Marketing and Black Studies. I chose Corporate Communications as my major because I want to be a well-rounded communicator and I know I will learn skills that will be useful for any field. Marketing is my minor because although I want to be well rounded in my skills I also still want to have a focus. I'm minoring in Black Studies because I think it is important to know about your history. I also want to form my own ideas and opinions on the world instead of just accepting what is fed to me by society.
I find strength in being creative because it allows me to express myself and show my personality in several different ways. My hobbies include singing, dancing, playing the piano, designing and creating clothing. Last year I served as the Treasurer of the Caribbean Student Association at my college and I am currently the President for the 2016-2017 Academic year. Also, I am an International Brand Management intern at Viacom. Thanks to Harcourt, I can stay in school and pursue my aspiration of working in marketing within the media industry when I graduate from Baruch College.
